Recalling the fragrance of fresh peaches and lavender roses
Grooving on Miles and “All Blues”
Looking into my pup — Rumi’s — eyes
The desert at twilight
Copper leaves drifting through Central Park in autumn
The taste of the softest kiss
Walking in summer rain
Leaning into the wisdom of redwoods
These are a few of the miracles of my life that continue to inspire my connection to the universe. This week practice hearing with “big ears” and seeing with “soft eyes.” There is so much beauty all around you. Open up, take a deep breath and let it in! Let every moment be a meditation. As the venerable poet and monk, Thich Nhat Hanh, has told us, notice that every moment is a precious moment when you live your life in gratitude.
So this week is about rediscovery. Take a look at the world with fresh eyes and renewed innocence. Let the inner child in you lead the way. Tape a picture of something that makes you happy and place it on the ceiling above your bed so it’s the first thing you see when you wake up. Smile at strangers on the street, in elevators, folks eating dinner at the table next to you. Be friendly.
When you walk, walk with reverence for our earth. Send love down into the grids that connect all of us around the world. And then, when you feel connected to your universe, make a prayer, an intention for balance, healing, inter-connectedness, peace. Send the energy to all living things. You will feel stronger, more joyful, and freer than you have felt in a long time.
Here are you invocations for this week. Practice them as little incantations and feel them coming alive within you. Let yourself trust that your energy means something, that you are finding true purpose. Enjoy…
1. With every breath I realize how happy I am to be alive.
2. Light shimmers from every cell within me.
3. I honor my place in the family of the world.
4. With the help of the universe I manifest a beautiful life.
5. My life is an amazing journey where I learn to open myself to love and compassion.
6. I fully surrender and let the universe express its infinite beauty through me.
7. Breathing in, I feel the everlasting spirit of who I am, breathing out I am free.
